September 11, 2001 is a day most Americans will remember
forever. It’s been nine years since that fateful day and many
are choosing to honor those that lost their lives in the 9/11
attacks by giving life to others.
On Saturday, September 11, 2010 Florida’s Blood Centers is
teaming up with the Daytona International Speedway for a 12 hour
blood drive. From 8am to 8pm NASCAR fans will have the
opportunity to save lives and see how the new race track is coming
along. Daytona is the birth place of racing and the historical
new pavement is currently being set in place. In fact, the
Daytona International Speedway is actually giving away a piece of
the old track to five lucky people who pre-register for the blood
drive. (Pre-register HERE ).
On September 11th racetracks across the country will
hold blood drives and compete with one another to see which track
can collect the most units of blood. Last year Florida’s Blood
Centers and the Daytona International Speedway came in second place
and this year we are striving for first. To take us to the
home stretch the Daytona International Speedway has a couple of
great incentives. Not only will pre-registrants have a
chance to win a historic piece of asphalt, but all donors will
receive a free commemorative t-shirt and a ticket to the Subway
Jalapeno 250!
Of course, this is a competition, so if we have 500 donors then
everyone is entered in a drawing for a chance to win a Daytona 500
package including two Daytona 500 Club tickets to the 2011 Daytona
500. If we hit a record 900 registered donors then another
donor will win Daytona 500 Club tickets to the Coke Zero 400.
Help us set the record across the country! Remember
September 11th by getting on the Big Red Bus at the
Daytona International Speedway. Save lives and be a part of
NASCAR history. Watch Video
