The term "biologics" refers to specialized
pharmaceutical products derived from living cells, tissues and
organisms. Examples are vaccines, blood and blood components. At
Florida's Blood Centers, we manufacture, store and distribute
biologics to hospitals and other health-care and medical-research
organizations. The biologics products we manufacture include red
cells, plasma, platelets and clotting-factor concentrates. FBC and
the biologics department are inspected and regulated by the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and
Review.
